Vigo Parish Council

Vigo Parish Council

On 20th February 2017 Vigo Parish Council considered the Independent Examiner's report and agreed what should now happen to the Plan.

The Parish Council concluded that, given the priorities expressed by our community during the Neighbourhood Planning process, particularly relating to the safeguarding of community land, it would be inappropriate to undertake further work on the Vigo Neighbourhood Plan at present.  It will keep the position under review and will re-instigate work on the Plan if and when it is felt appropriate.

Many people in our community have contributed to the Neighbourhood Plan project and the Parish Council would like to thank everyone for their input.

Vigo Youth Club  - New time

The Youth Club (run by The Gr@nd) still meets on Monday evenings in the Village Hall or outside during nice weather.
It now runs from 16.30 until 19.30.

A polite reminder that residents should not park on footpaths, or on community land.  Vigo Parish council will seek to recover the cost of repairs resulting from damage caused by parking on community land

Our refuse collection is changing

Starting in June, black bins will be delivered to residences in place of black sacs.
These bins will be collected every other week- alternating with the recycling bin.
When the new bins are delivered, each home will also receive a full information pack with collection calendar and recycling guide.
The food waste caddy will continue to be collected each week.

Driving on Parish land is definitely not permitted.

If anyone sees people driving on Parish Land, or has any information that they could pass on, please contact the Parish clerk.

Waterlow Road Surface

KCC Highways have already resurfaced the worst parts of Waterlow Road - on bends and junctions.  They have used asphalt in these areas.  The remaining parts of the road will be resurfaced during the summer.  Hopefully this will be much longer lasting.

If you would like to be a Community Support Warden, the closing date has been extended.
